Ingredients for making a Twix bar

Dough:

  1. Softened butter 227 grams
  2. Icing sugar 85 grams
  3. Chicken egg 1 piece
  4. Liquid vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  5. Sifted wheat flour 250 grams

Caramel filling:

Making a Twix Bar:

Step 1: prepare the dough.

First of all, preheat the oven up to 150 degrees Celsius. We install a nozzle for kneading dough on the mixer. Then we take a deep bowl, put softened butter in it and add powdered sugar to it. We establish a container with products under the mixer blades and turn on the device at medium speed. Beat the ingredients until light and fluffy for 10 minutes. After not stopping the operation of the mixer, we drive a chicken egg into the bowl without shell, and beat the mass 2 - 3 minutes. Now add the liquid vanilla extract, salt and begin to introduce in the resulting mixture in parts the right amount of sifted wheat flour. Then turn on the mixer to a strong level and knead the dough of medium density until it becomes homogeneous without flour lumps. Wrap the dough in a plastic wrap and cool it in the freezer 15 minutes.

Step 2: bake the base for the bars.

While the dough is cooling, we take an aluminum non-stick baking sheet and cover it with a sheet of parchment paper. In 15 minutes remove the dough from the freezer, put it on the kitchen table, remove the plastic wrap and level it on the table. We take 1 more piece of plastic film and put it on top of the dough. Using a rolling pin, we roll out the semi-finished flour product into a thick layer up to 1 centimeter, its diameter should correspond to the size of the pan. After we remove the top film from the dough sheet and turn it on the same side onto the baking sheet prepared for baking. We remove the second layer of the film, level the semi-finished flour product with the fingers of our hands and put the mold with the dough in the oven preheated to the desired temperature. We bake the basis for bars for 25-30 minutes, during this time the dough will reach full readiness. After the required time, remove the baking sheet with cake from the oven, holding a kitchen towel, and put it on a cutting board, previously laid on the kitchen table. We give the aromatic base to cool, and during this time we prepare the caramel filling.

Step 3: prepare the caramel filling.

In the deep heat-resistant bowl, put the right amount of caramel without candy wrappers. Add whole pasteurized milk, salt to the sweets and put the container in the microwave for 1 minute. When the timer clicks on the kitchen appliance, remove the bowl from the microwave and mix the caramel mass with a tablespoon, which began to melt. Put the capacity inside the microwave again for 1 minute, and repeat the mixing process after this time. We melt the toffee until the mass becomes homogeneous and smooth, it will take about 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 4: Form the Twix Bars

Pour the melted iris mass onto the cooled sand cake and level it with a metal kitchen spatula around the entire perimeter of the dough. Let the iris layer cool completely to room temperature. Then we tighten the baking sheet with plastic wrap and put it in the freezer. In it, the viscous mass grasps faster, approximately in 7 - 10 minutes.

Step 5: melt the chocolate.

Of course, chocolate can be melted in the microwave, but then it can lose its luster. Therefore, the best option is to melt it in a steam bath. To do this, turn on the stove to a strong level and put on it a stew-pan, half filled with ordinary running water. After the liquid has boiled, put in a deep bowl half of the total mass of chocolate dragees and set the container with sweets on a saucepan. We fasten the temperature of the plate to an average level. When the first portion of the chocolate dragee melts a little, add the remaining candies to the bowl and stir the mass with a silicone kitchen spatula and bring the chocolate to a liquid consistency. We act slowly, chocolate should not boil! On its melting will take about 10 minutes, during this time, the iris layer will just thicken.

Step 6: bring the dessert to full readiness.

Remove the melted chocolate bowl from the stewpan and place it on the kitchen table. We take out a baking sheet with an almost ready dessert from the freezer. Holding the edges of parchment paper with our hands, we drag the layers onto a cutting board. After the knife, cut the layers into thick bars up to 1 - 1.5 centimeters. We take a kitchen fork with 2 prongs, put 1 bar on it and immerse it in chocolate. After we remove it from the chocolate and transfer it to a clean baking sheet, previously covered with a sheet of parchment paper. In the same way, bring the remaining Twix bars to full readiness and place them on a baking sheet at a short distance from each other so that the candies do not stick together during solidification. We put the baking sheet in the refrigerator and wait until the chocolate has hardened, it will take about from 15 to 30 minutes. After we transfer the finished candies to a dessert vase and serve to the sweet table.

Step 7: serve the Twix bar.

A “Twix” bar is served chilled in a dessert vase. It is pleasant to savor these gentle, sweet sweets with hot tea, coffee, cocoa or warm milk. It is advisable to store the Twix crispy bars in the refrigerator after placing them in a tightly closed container. The taste and aroma of home-made bars are in no way inferior to those that you can buy in stores or supermarkets. Recipe Tips:

- - Instead of parchment paper, baking paper can be used.

- - If you use hard toffee, increase the amount of milk by 2 times.

- - Iris mass can be prepared independently. To do this, turn the stove on a medium level and put on it a deep saucepan with 100 grams of butter. Pour 2 cans of condensed milk there, and cook the ingredients until a thick caramel mass is formed. This will take about 20 - 25 minutes. If desired, you can add liquid vanilla extract to homemade caramel.
